About

Caitlyn Yu (she/her) is a Taiwanese-American artist from Irvine, California. When she was eight, she started her artistic journey at South Coast Repertory's Youth Conservatory, where she trained for ten years. During her time there, Caitlyn had the unique opportunity to be part of the world premiere of the play Coleman '72, which fueled her passion for creating and performing in new works.

A semi-finalist for OC Artist of the Year in Theater, Caitlyn has always been committed to fostering innovative storytelling. At her high school, she co-produced a program dedicated to developing new plays and nurturing young voices in the theater community.

Caitlyn is currently training at Playwrights Horizons Theater School at NYU Tisch, where she continues to refine her craft and deepen her understanding of performance. Through her work, Caitlyn explores both the intensity and tenderness of life, fostering connection and healing through theater.
